About Me

Lisa Myers (BMed.Sc cum laude, MBCHB cum laude, FCPsych(SA), FRANZCP, Certificate Child Adolescent Psychiatry) is a qualified general and child and adolescent psychiatrist. She is a dynamic female psychiatrist and a mother of two. Lisa’s approach involves an initial, comprehensive diagnostic assessment of the presenting complaint. This process includes evaluating the contributing biological, psychological and socio-cultural factors and including these in the client’s formulation.

 

 

She includes the client and (where needed), their family, private psychologist and school psychologist in the assessment process. Neuropsychological testing (WISC, WIAT, CPT), the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ADOS, ADI), school readiness and behavioural assessments are conducted at the at the practice.

 

 

Lisa has a holistic approach to management. She works collaboratively with families, schools and other health care providers to ensure the comprehensive and effective management of her clients. She has an excellent network of mental health and other health professionals that she works alongside and she consults monthly to Headspace, Bondi Junction. 

 

 

She believes in up-skilling her clients and improving their self-management ability and has a keen interest in parenting skills training. Lisa supports and encourages her clients to adopt healthy life style factors, mindfulness and overall health and well-being awareness into their lives.

 

 

Lisa has extensive experience in both private and public practice. She has worked in both inpatient and community settings with both adults, children and adolescents. She has many long-term clients who have benefited from her commitment, care, empathy, knowledge, experience and skill.
